S.A.T.O.P. LEVEL TWO WEEKEND INTERVENTION PROGRAM
If you have to complete a SATOP program after having received a Missouri DUI / DWI charge, where you gave a high BAC on your breath test result or if you have at least one prior alcohol or drug-related offense, you may be required to attend a Level-Two WIP Weekend Intervention Program with an approved Missouri SATOP Offender Management Unit. This is a 48-consecutive-hour program where you have to stay in the program through an entire weekend and is usually conducted from 4 p.m. Friday through 4 p.m. Sunday.
A fee of $400 is assessed for the SATOP weekend intervention program, in addition to the initial SATOP screening fee of $120.00 with an approved Offender Management Unit. Some people may be eligible to have some of these costs offset if they are eligible through a "standard means test."
As discussed on our Missouri SATOP general information page, there are also some counties that work a "diversion" if it is a chemical test refusal case. Normally, you are facing losing your license for at least one year if you refuse a chemical test. But some counties on first-time refusal cases will dismiss your refusal sanctions (where you don't lose your license for a year) if you plead guilty in the criminal portion of your case, and then also complete the WIP weekend intervention program, even though you are a first-time offender. Jackson County and Clay County Missouri are two counties that offer such a diversion for first-time refusal cases. Please contact our office for further details.
